About the Ride
For more than 50 years, the Hancock Horizontal Hundred has been a cornerstone of Midwest cycling. Known for its smooth roads, minimal elevation, and welcoming atmosphere, the HHH is ideal for riders of all levels—from families on their first group ride to seasoned cyclists chasing a century.
The ride is hosted by Making Miles Matter Inc., a nonprofit dedicated to improving cycling access, safety, and community wellness programs throughout the region.
Route Options

15-Mile Family Ride
Neighborhood roads - great for new riders and families. -
30-Mile Recreational Ride
Scenic farmland and rural roads, multiple rest stops. -
62-Mile Metric Century
Rolling countryside and small towns, multiple rest stops. -
100-Mile Century
Ohio’s flattest century route, many rest stops, and special century recognition.
All routes begin and end at the Findlay start location, with the finish line celebration open throughout the afternoon.
What’s Included

Pre-Ride: Packet pickup, goodie bag, route maps and GPS files, and a welcome gathering with local food vendors.

During the Ride: Stocked rest stops every 12–18 miles, SAG vehicle support, medical assistance, and clear route markings.

Post-Ride: Hot food, live music, community vendors, a completion certificate, raffle entry, and professional photos.

Take-Home: Event T-shirt/jersey, goodie bag, and optional route patch.

Preparation & Rider Tips

Bike types: Road bikes are most common, hybrids and e-bikes are welcome, all paved surfaces.

Training:

15–30 miles: Be comfortable with 1–2 hour rides

62 miles: Work up to at least 40 miles in training
-
100 miles: Plan one or two 70+ mile rides beforehand

Bring: Helmet (required), water bottles, flat repair kit, phone, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Is this a race?
No. It’s a recreational ride, not timed or competitive. -
What if it rains?
The event goes on rain or shine, with weather updates provided if safety changes are needed. -
Can I register the day of?
Limited same-day registration may be available, but most years sell out in advance. -
Age limits?
Riders under 18 must be with a parent/guardian. No upper age limit. -
Food restrictions?
Options are available—note your needs during registration. -
Can I change distances?
Yes, riders may switch to a shorter route on the morning of the event. Longer upgrades depend on availability.

Closing date: 2 weeks before the event or when sold out

Refunds: Full refunds available until one month prior, partial refunds until event week

Transfers: Free rider transfers allowed until the week of the event
Get Involved
The HHH thrives on community support. Volunteers are needed for rest stops, SAG driving, registration, and event setup/teardown. Group and corporate teams are welcome to register together.
